David Nims, Jr. (1742-1826), was a soldier and patriot, also a member of the Committee of Safety, New Hampshire. He was born in Deerfield, Mass.; died in Roxbury, N. H.
Silas Ballou (1753-1837) was a privateersman in the Navy. He was born in Cumberland, R. I.; died in Richmond, N. H.
James Ballou (1723-1812) served in the 6th regiment of New Hampshire militia on the Rhode Island Alarm, 1778, and later was a fifer. He was born in Wrentham, Mass.; died in Richmond, N. H.

[p.216] Gideon Mann (1735-1800), John Martin (1710-85), and George Martin (1748-1822) were patriots who signed the Association Test at Richmond, N. H., where they died. They were born in Smithfield, R. I.
Joshua Phillips served as private under Captains Bent, Moore, and Houghton, Colonels Sparhawk, Whitney, and Shepard, Massachusetts Line. He was born, 1748, in Smithfield, R. I.; died in Rutland, Mass.
Samuel Carter (1737-1808) served as private in Capt. Samuel Sawyer's company, Massachusetts Line. He was born in Lancaster, Mass.; died in Keene, N. H.
