Joshua Whitney, (1745-1808), entered the army as sergeant; [p.192] was promoted lieutenant 1780 and served to the close of the war. He was an original member of the Cincinnati of Connecticut. He was born in Canaan, Connecticut; removed to Pittsfield, Mass., where he died.

Thaddeus Bradley, (1756-1840), was at Ticonderoga 1775 and in 1776 served under Capt. Stephen Bradley; 1777 was at Fort Stanwix under Capt. Jeremiah Parmely, Col. Samuel Elmore. In 1832 he was allowed a pension as private, Conn. [p.212] line and his widow received an increase of pension for service of soldier as teamster. He was born in Cheshire, Conn.; died in Burton, Ohio.
