I. Brooks Harrington Bellows, b. at Essex, Vt., 18 Dec. 1834; a farmer; married at Farmington, N. Y., 16 March 1858, Permelia Cole, dau. of Seymour and Elizabeth Lamphere (Lake) Cole, of Farmington, where she was born 16 Ap. 1841. They settled at Pierrepont, N. Y., where he died, 7 Nov. 1864, of consumption contracted in the army. He enlisted, Sept. 1862, in Co. I, 142d Reg., N. Y. S. Vol.; took part in seven engagements; and was in active service till shortly before his death. She married (2d), 22 Oct. 1870, Truman Moore, and was living at Pierrepont in July 1874.
