two years, when, in July 1864, she succeeded in crossing the lines and made her way, with her two children, to Coventry. There, in Nov. 1864, she had the happiness of welcoming her husband, who had made his escape, after more than two years had passed, in which she had not heard from him. They lived at Coventry, in 1873.

2005 I. Gabriel Ashmore Hoyt, b. in Walton, N. Y., 6 Nov. 1816; a farmer; married, 2 Oct, 1839, at Walton, Adelia Guild, dau. of Everett and Hannah (Perkins) Guild, of Walton, where she was born 24 July 1817. They settled in Walton, and were living there in May 1877. 6370
2006 II. Amasa Lewis Hoyt, b. in Walton, N. Y., 22 March 1819; a farmer; married, 13 Feb. 1844, in Walton, by Rev. E. D. Willis, Congregational, to Delia Elizabeth Fitch, who was born in Walton, 4 Dec. 1821, dau. of Lewis and Thankful (Benedict) Fitch. He settled in Walton, and was living there in May 1877, having served his town six years as an assessor. 6378
2007 III. Thaddeus Seymour Hoyt, b. in Walton, N. Y., 28 Oct 1821; a farmer; married, 12 Sept 1843, at Walton, by Rev. E. D. Willis, Congregational, to Laetitia Fitch, who was born in Walton, 23 Ap. 1824, dau. of Thaddeus and Hannah (Mead) Fitch. They settled at Walton, and lived there in Stay 1877, without children He was elected deacon of the Congregational Church of Westbrook, in Walton, 19 June 1859, and was ordained 17 July 1859. He has been clerk of the church for many years.
2008 IV. Frederick Hoyt, b. in Walton, N. Y. 28 Nov. 1823; a farmer; married, 5 March 1845, at Walton, by Rev. E. D. Willis, Congregational, to Sophia Welden, born in Walton, 28 Jan. 1824, dau. of Peter and Jerusha (Steele1) Welden. She died, 28 Aug. 1870, at Walton, and was boded in the Hoyt family cemetery in that town. He married (2d), 25 Nov. 1874, Maria Pine, a widow, and was living at Walton, in May 1877. 6384
2009 V. Edward Hoyt, twin, b. in Walton, N. Y., 20 Jan., 1827; married, 19 Jan. 1856, in Walton, by Rev. J. S. Pattengill, Congregational, to Helen Benedict, born in Walton, 10 Feb. 1833, dau. or Ira and Hannah (Fitch) 6390
