2473 IV. Joseph Bailey, b. at Vernon, N. J., 27 March 1796; died at Vernon, and was buried there, in the family cemetery.
2474 V. Huldah Matilda Bailey, b. at Vernon, N. J., 13 Sept. 1798; married at Newton, N. J., Joseph Edmonson, a farmer and local preacher of the Methodist Church, son of Benjamin and Elizabeth (Clark) Edmonson, of Warwick, N. Y., where he was born 8 Ap. 1798. They settled at North Vernon, now Glenwood, N. J., and afterward moved to Newton, N. J. She died, 8 March 1849, at Sussex, N. J., and was buried there. He moved, in 1849, to Clarkston, Mich., and there married, 8 Sept. 1849, Hannah Eleanor Shurter. He married (3d), in 1862, at Clarkston, Sarah Ann Griggs, widow of Nathaniel Huston; and was living at Independence, Mich., in July 1876. 7363
2475 VI. Samuel Longwill Bailey, b. at Vernon, N. J., 17 Sept. 1799; a farmer; married, 25 Jan. 1823, at Vernon, by Elder Featherbridge, Methodist Episcopal, to Phebe Clark, who was born at Warwick, N. Y., 8 May 1803, dau. of Phineas and Betsey (McCan) Clark, the latter residing in Wayne, N. Y., at the time of her marriage. They dwelt till June 1825, in Vernon, N. J.; removed to Wayne, and thence to Barrington, N. Y.; and finally, in 1834, settled in Urbana, N. Y., where she died 25 Nov. 1865, and was buried in Urbana Cemetery. He was living at Urbana, near Hammondsport post-office, in Sept. 1875. 7378
2476 VII. Phebe Ann Bailey, b. at Vernon, N. J., 3 Sept. 1801; died at Troupsburgh, N. Y., 26 Nov. 1873, and was buried in the Young Hickory Cemetery, at Troupsburgh.
2477 VIII. Thomas Whitney Bailey, b. at Vernon, N. J., 27 Oct. 1803; a farmer; married, 8 March 1823, at Vernon, Esther Cole, dau. of Joshua and Catharine (Carver) Cole, of Wautage, N. J., where she was born 8 Nov. 1806. They dwelt, for one year, at Warwick, N. Y.; three years in Bergen Co., N. J.; one year in Barrington, N. Y.; and, 18 Ap. 1833, settled at Troupsburgh, N. Y., where she died 23 March 1835, and was buried in Young Hickory Cemetery. He married (2d), 3 Aug. 1836, at Troupsburgh, Jane Bishop, dau. of Charles and Elizabeth (Harder) Bishop, of Troupsburgh, where she was born 21 Ap. 1817. They were still hiving at Troupsburgh, Young Hickory post-office, in July 1875. 7389
2478 IX. William Osben Bailey, b. at Vernon, N. J., 28 Nov. 1807; a farmer; married at Barrington, N. Y., Cynthia Lockwood; died in Buffalo, N. Y., and was buried there. 7401
2479 X. Matthew Bailey, b. at Vernon, N. J., 9 Oct. 1811; died at Vernon, and was buried there, in the family cemetery.
