married Mary Emma Cornell, of Ossining, N. Y., dau. of James and Margaret (Tompkins) Cornell, of the same town. She died at Ossining, and was buried at Pine's Bridge, in Yorktown. He married (2d) Hester Elsie Ridgeway, of Paterson, N. J.
5023 III. William Jay Travis, b. at Yorktown, N. Y., 23 Sept. 1838; a truck-driver; married in 1872, Isabella Sterling, who was born in England. They were living at 6 Abingdon Square, New York City, in Dec. 1874. He was a soldier in the war of 1861. 12716
5024 IV. Ann Augusta Travis, b. at Yorktown, N. Y., 19 June 1842; married there, 18 May 1864, in her father's house, by Rev. E. S. Yocom, Baptist, to Solomon De BeVoise Purdy, a grocer, born in New York City, 22 March 1840, son of William Hart and Rebecca Ann (De BeVoise) Purdy. They were living at Peekskill, N. Y., in her father's house, in Dec. 1874, without children.
5025 V. Marietta Travis, b. at Yorktown, N. Y., 7 Feb. 1847; married in her father's house at Yorktown, 17 Oct. 1366, by Rev. E. S. Yocom, Baptist, to Moses Haviland Dean, a farmer, and dealer in cattle, who was born in Somers, N. Y., 12 Aug. 1838, son. of Nathaniel and Elizabeth (Haviland) Dean. They were living at Peekskill, N. Y., in Dec. 1874. 12717

Milton Burrall Whitney, b. at East Granville, Mass., 6 Oct. 1825; grad. at Williams College in 1849; an attorney and counsellor-at-law; settled at Westfield, Mass., in 1851, and was living there, unmarried, in Jan. 1876. He was a Senator of Mass. in 1862-3; and a Presidential Elector in 1868, from the 10th Congressional District of Mass.

Marilla Emeline Whitney, b. at East Granville, Mass., 15 Jan. 1830; married at Norfolk, Conn., 13 Sept. 1854, Phelps Ezekiel Alderman, a carriage-manufacturer, son of Ezekiel and Julia (Osborn) Alderman, of Granby, Conn., where he was born 15 Sept. 1827. They were living at Westfield, Mass., in July 1876. 12718
5028 III. Frances Ann Whitney, b. at East Granville, Mass., 4 Aug. 1834; married there, 1 March 1857, James Wallace Johnson, a manufacturer, whose parents then lived at Harwinton, Conn. He was born at Winchester, Conn., 29 Aug. 1826, son of Eli and Evalina (Bettis) Johnson. They lived at West Granville, Mass., till March 1859; at Tolland, Mass., till March 1861; and then returned to West Granville, where they were 12720
