5323 VI. Oscar Whitney, b. at Esopus, N.Y., 20 Oct. 1840; died at Esopus, 18 Ap. 1843, and was buried there, in the Coutant family-cemetery.
5324 VII. Egbert Whitney, b. near Rifton Glen, in Esopus, N.Y., 17 July 1847; a carpenter and joiner; married at Newburgh, N.Y., 23 Ap. 1870, by Rev. H. H. Birkins, pastor of the Second Meth. Epis. Church in Newburgh, to Matilda Sammons Traver, dau. of Henry Edward and Frances Brewster (Dunn) Traver, of Eddyville, in Kingston, N.Y., where she was born 6 Sept 1850. They settled in Bedford precinct, Nebraska; and afterward moved to Humboldt, Neb., where they were living in Aug. 1874.
5325 VIII. Adeline Whitney, b. at Esopus, N.Y., 3 May 1849; married at Freedom Plains, in LaGrange, N.Y., 15 Oct 1873, Alison Dutcher, a farmer, who was born at Beekman, N.Y., 6 Aug. 1847, son of Abraham and Gertrude Ann (Van Voorhees) Dutcher. They were living at Beekmanville in Nov. 1873. 13233

5326 I. William Henry Whitney, b. at Shelby, N.Y., 5 Oct 1839; died there, 19 June 1846, and was buried in Maple Ridge Cemetery, a mile west of Millville, in Shelby.
5327 II. James Nelson Whitney, b. at Barre, N.Y., 9 Oct 1842; a farmer; married there Emma Trow, a native of England; and was living at Alabama, N.Y., in 1874, without children.
5328 III. George Edward Whitney, b. at Shelby, N.Y., 16 Oct 1844; died there, 11 Nov. 1844, and was buried in Maple Ridge Cemetery, a mile west of Millville, in Shelby.
5329 IV. Harriet Ophelia Whitney, b. at Shelby, N.Y., 1 Ap. 1847; married at Barre, N.Y., 5 Nov. 1865, Alanson Darius Grinnell, a farmer, who was born at Barre, 22 Ap. 1847, son of Major and Delilah (Wheeler) Grinnell. They were living at Barre in 1874. 13235
