p. 35, #166: Jonathan4 WHITNEY was born 16 Jun 1703, according to Wrentham vital records. He married first Tryphena DANIEL, and second Rebecca DUNTON.

p. 35, #167: Abigail4 WHITNEY was born 22 May 1708, according to Wrentham vital records. Her marriage to Preserved HALL occurred on 10 Sep 1729, not 20 Sep 1729, according to Wrentham vital records. They had nine children recorded in Wrentham.

p. 35, #44: There were two additional children, not given here. One was [----]ill4 WHITNEY, birth not recorded, who died 24 Nov 1711, according to Wrentham vital records. The other was Hannah4 WHITNEY, born 11 Jul 1710 and died 24 Apr 1719, also according to Wrentham vital records.

p. 35, #168: Jonas4 WHITNEY was the second child, and died 4 Nov 1745, according to Chelmsford vital records.

p. 35, #169: Joseph4 WHITNEY was the third child. He was born 22 Mar 1710, according to Sherborn vital records.

p. 35, #170: Sylvanus4 WHITNEY was the fourth child. He was born 22 Feb 1711/2, according to Sherborn vital records. He married Hannah -----, and had nine children born in Dunbstable, MA.

p. 35, #171: James4 WHITNEY was the fifth child. He was born 23 Mar 1714, according to Sherborn vital records. He married Eleanor ROBBINS, according to Eleanor Robbins Sprague and Andrew West Robbins, "Untangling The Evidence For Two Early Massachusetts Robbins Families George of Chelmsford (1657) and Robert of Concord (1671)," New England Historical and Genealogical Register, volume CLI (1997), pages 398-399.

p. 35, #172: Ephraim4 WHITNEY was the sixth child. He was born 11 Mar 1715/6, according to Sherborn vital records. He married Esther WOODS and had five children born in Pepperell, MA.

p. 35, #173: Abigail4 WHITNEY was the first child. She and Thomas HERWOOD published their intentions of marriage 4 Jan 1729, according to Chelmsford vital records. I have not found any records of children born to this couple.

p. 35, #48: There were three additional children not given by Pierce. They were:

  • Rebecca4 WHITNEY, born 6 Dec 1718, Chelmsford, MA, nothing further known.
  • Benjamin4 WHITNEY, born 18 Mar 1724, Chelmsford, MA, nothing further known.
  • Daniel4 WHITNEY, born 20 May 1726, Chelmsford, MA. He married Hannah HILDRETH and had thirteen children born in Chelmsford.

p. 35, #51: Joshua3 WHITNEY was born 14 Jun 1665, according to Groton vital records. His second wife was Sarah (-----) FELLOWS, probably the second wife and widow of John FELLOWS. His military service was not in King Phillip's War, which occurred in 1675-6, but as a member of the garrison in the West Regiment of Middlesex, 17 Mar 1691/2.

p. 35, #54: William3 WHITNEY was born in Watertown, not Groton, according to Watertown vital records, volume 1, page 43. His marriage to Lydia PERHAM occurred on 16 Mar 1699/1700, according to Groton and Chelmsford vital records. Lydia died either 20 Jan 1716 (town record) or 22 Aug 1716 (gravestone), according to Groton vital records. Margaret MIRICK was born in 1684, according to Newton vital records.
