Abraham4 Whitney (Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of Isaiah3 and Sarah (Woodward)(Eddy) Whitney, was baptized 19 Feb 1710, Lexington, MA,[1] and died 19 May 1784, Harvard, MA, aged 75 years;[2] or died 22 May 1784, Harvard, MA.

Marriage intentions for Abraham and Sarah5 Whitney were published 18 Jan 1737/8, Lancaster, MA, both "of Harvard".[3] He married, 20 Apr 1738, Harvard, MA, Sarah5 Whitney "of Harvard",[4] daughter of John4 and Elizabeth (Barnard) Whitney. She was born 2 Oct 1716, Stow, MA, and died 4 Jul 1799, Harvard, MA, aged 82 or 83 years.[5]

Pierce says the following:[6]

Abraham WHITNEY's farm was directly north of Elijah's and was, like his, chiefly from the James ATHERTON estate. Abraham WHITNEY senior bought lands here of Joseph KENT in 1743, and built on the opposite side of the highway from the house now owned by Thomas MONGOVIN, where traces of his dwelling can be seen. The house, now the home of Cephas BOWERS, was built by Abraham WHITNEY, Jr., in Revolutionary days.
In seating the meeting house in Harvard in 1766, Abraham WHITNEY was given the second seat below.
