Abram Hinckley7 Whitney (James M.6, Jacob5, Benjamin4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of James M.6 and Reliance (?Hinckley?) Whitney, was born 1 Apr 1817, Phillips, ME,[1] and died 11 Aug 1851, Medford, MA, aged 34 years 4 months, of typhoid fever.[2]

He married, 11 Apr 1845, Mary Wilber, daughter of David and Charlotte (-----) Wilber. She was born 25 Jul 1819, Phillips, ME,[3] or Deerham, ME, and died 11 Nov 1885, Medford, MA, aged 65 years 8 months 16 days, of gastric catarrh.[4]

He was born and reared in the vicinity of what was called Phillips village, ME; was educated there in the common schools. There served time and finally became a house carpenter. When he was 28 years of age, married Mary Wilber, who then resided with her parents in the town of Durham, ME. They then resided for a short time in Phillips, ME, from there removed to a farm in the town of Avon, ME, where their son was born in 1846. When he was about two or three years of age they removed to Medford, MA, he pursuing the occupation of a house carpenter until he was injured and was compelled to quit work, finally, in consequence of said injuries, he died. He resided Avon, ME, and Medford, MA.
