Alfred7 Whitney (Adams6, Isaac5, Isaac4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Adams6 and Lydia A. (Lombard) Whitney, was born 5 Aug 1826, Standish, ME, and died 1 Feb 1899, prob. Gorham, ME.

Marriage intentions were published 22 Apr 1848, Standish, ME, for him "Mr." "of Standish" and Elizabeth S. Wentworth "of Sebago".[1] He married 24 May 1848, Standish, ME, Elizabeth S. Wentworth. She was born about 1829, Sebago, ME, and died before 1898.

Alfred was a Civil War veteran, and he received a pension from the U.S. government.

i. Laura J.8 Whitney, b. 3 Sep 1848, prob. Gorham, ME; m. 25 Dec 1870, ----- Westley.
ii. Frank H. Whitney, b. 1 or 23 Mar 1850, prob. Gorham, ME; d. 20 Jun 1888, prob. Monmouth, ME; m. 23 Nov 1870, Mary H. Pray, b. 15 May 1846, d. 10 Dec 1913. Both are buried in the Monmouth Center Cemetery, Monmouth, ME.
iii. Clara N. Whitney, b. ca. 1852, prob. Gorham, ME; m. ca. 1869, Wilbur J. Stokes.
iv. Clarence Edgar Whitney, b. Aug 1854, ME; m. Ida F. Tibbetts.
