Family:Whitney, Asa (1742-a1800)

Asa5 Whitney (Enoch4, Ebenezer3, Richard2, John1), son of Enoch4 and Thankful (Parke) Whitney, was born 10 Jul 1742, Preston, CT,[1] baptized 7 Jul 1743, Preston, CT,[2] and died -- Jun 1776, Cornwall, CT[3] (see notes below).

He "of New Preston" married, 17 Dec 1772, New Milford, CT, Abigail Brownson "of Cornwall",[4] by Rev. Hezekiah Goold. She may have died 31 Aug 1781, Cornwall, CT[5] (see notes below).

Children of Asa5 and Abigail (Brownson) Whitney:

i. Rebecca Smith6 Whitney, b. 8 Oct 1773, Cornwall, CT.[6]
ii. Benjamin Whitney, b. 29 Jul 1776, Cornwall, CT.[7]

Notes

Notice is taken of an Asa Whitney who died -- Jun 1776, Cornwall, CT, and an Abigail Whitney who died 31 Jul 1781, Cornwall, CT. They seem likely to be this couple.
