Barnabas7 Whitney (Paul6, Timothy5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Paul6 and Lucinda (Marsh) Whitney, was born 27 Aug 1828, Bolton Centre, Brome Co., QC, and died 20 Mar 1865, Bolton Centre, Brome Co., QC.

He married, 1852, Chittenden, VT, Emily Bracey, daughter of Samuel and Sarah (Fuller) Bracey. She was born about 1835, Canada, or Newport, VT, and died after 1877. She married secondly, 3 Oct 1865, Bolton, QC, Joseph H. Hewes. Apparently he died or they were divorced, because she (with surname Whitney) married thirdly, 6 Feb 1877, Sterling, MA, William H. H. Mahan, b. ca. 1841, Northborough, MA, son of Samuel and Amelia (Boynton) Mahan.[1]

He resided Bolton Centre, QC.

ii. Effie O. Whitney, b. ca. 1853, Chittenden, VT, or Bolton, QC; "Affie" or "Affa" m. 1 or 3 Sep 1869, West Boylston, MA (also recorded Clinton, MA), George Mahan, b. ca. 1847, West Boylston, MA, son of Samuel and Mary (-----) Mahan.[2]
iii. Laforrest Whitney, b. ca. 1855, Chittenden, VT; d. 1861, Chittenden, VT.
iv. Imogene Whitney, b. ca. 1857, Chittenden, VT.
v. Elwin F. Whitney, b. ca. 8 Aug 1859, Canada; m. Ida F. Danforth.
vi. Cyrus William Whitney, b. ca. 2 Jun 1862, Chittenden, VT, or Bolton, PQ; m. Helen Josephine Atwood, b. 15 Mar 1867, Groton, MA, dau. of Philip and Harriet (-----) Atwood.

Census

The family were probably in Quebec, and those censuses have not yet been examined, with one exception.
