He married, about 1910, Frances Abernath (Abernathy?). She was born about 1889, KS, her parents being from Ohio.

He was a life insurance agent.

In 1918, Bayard Taylor Whitney filled out his World War I draft registration form. On this record is the following information: Bayard Taylor Whitney, 1257 Boswell, Topeka, Shawnee Co., KS, age 34, born Nov 4 1883, white, native born, Occupation: Life Insurance, for Guardian Life Ins. Co., nearest relative: Mrs. B. T. Whitney (wife) of the same address, tall height, medium build, blue gray eyes, light brown hair. In 1920, Bayard was an insurance agent in Topeka, KS. By 1930 the family had moved to Kansas City, MO.
