Benjamin McNeal8 Whitney (Amos Stone7, Jonah6, Isaiah5, Isaiah4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of Amos Stone7 and Emmeline (Jakway)(Holden) Whitney, was born 24 Mar 1855, Dixon, IL, and died 30 Nov 1936, Rochester, MN.

He married firstly, 30 May 1878, Dixon, IL, Clara Sthare. She died 18 Apr 1886.

He married secondly, 5 Sep 1888, Gurena Waldon. She was born about Nov 1861, Norway, and died after 1930.

He was born in Dixon, IL, and was engaged in the coopering business with his father till he moved to Minneapolis. He is still in the same business, but was in Duluth one year in the commission business, but left on account of the climate, and is now one of the stock owners in the Hennepin County Barrel Works at Minneapolis; resided Minneapolis, MN, care Hennepin County Barrel Works.

Children of Benjamin McNeal8 and Clara (Sthare) Whitney:

i. Emeline Grace9 Whitney, b. Aug 1879; d. Sep 1879, Dixon, IL, aged 1 month of pneumonia.[1]
ii. Arthur C. Whitney, b. 18 Mar 1882; d. May 1886.
iii. Lavina Whitney, b. 29 May 1884; d. after 1900.
iv. Clara Whitney, b. 25 Mar 1886; d. after 1900.

Benjamin McNeal8 and Gurena (Waldon) Whitney had no children.
