Charles6 Whitney (Daniel5, Daniel4, Benjamin3, John2, John1), son of Daniel5 and Mary (Harrington) Whitney,[1] was born 16 Nov 1780, Watertown, MA,[2] baptized 26 Nov 1780, Watertown, MA,[3] and died 9 Jun 1850, Watertown, MA.[4]

Marriage intentions were published 30 Jan 1808, Watertown, MA, for him and Ruth Chenery, "both of Watertown.[5] He married 17 Feb 1808, Watertown, MA, Ruth Chenery,[6] daughter of William and Sybil (Cox) Chenery, his fourth cousin once removed.[7] She was born 8 May 1780, Watertown, MA,[8] died 29 Feb 1868, Watertown, MA, aged 86 years 9 months 22 days, of old age.[9]

Their marriage notice was published 20 Feb 1808, in The Times (Boston, MA): "At Watertown, on the 17th inst. by the Rev. R. Eliot, Mr. Charles Whitney, to the agreeable Miss Ruth Chenery, both of that town."[10]

He was a stonemason. He resided Watertown, MA.

On 1 Oct 1808, Watertown, MA, Charles Whitney and wife were recorded as "owning the covenant."[11]

Ruth (Chenery) Whitney was living with her son Bradshaw in 1860 in Watertown, MA.
