Charles6 Whitney (Walter5, Samuel4, Richard3, John2, Henry1), son of Walter5 and Anah (Wells) Whitney, was born 5 Sep 1787, Fairfield, CT, and died 29 Oct 1865, Albany, NY. He was buried in the Albany Rural Cemetery, Albany, NY.

He married, 22 Nov 1810, New Salem, NY, Jane White, daughter of John White. She was born 10 Jul 1794, Bethlehem, NY, and died 9 Jul 1854, Albany, NY, "aged 59 years, 11 months, and 29 days."

Phoenix says the following:

"Charles Whitney, b. at Fairfield, Conn., 5 Sept. 1787; married on the Helderbergs, at New Salem, in Bethlehem, now New Scotland, N. Y., 22 Nov. 1810, Jane White, b. at Bethlehem, now New Scotland, 10 July 1794, dau. of John White. He was a farmer, tanner, shoemaker and harness-maker; settled near Clarksville, in New Scotland; and, in 1819, moved to Albany, N. Y., where he died, at 12 North Lansing Street, 29 Oct. 1865. She died in North Pearl Street, Albany, 9 July 1854, "aged 59 years, 11 months, and 29 days." They are buried in lot 159, section 92, in the Albany Rural Cemetery, where a headstone marks her grave."

vii. Luke Whitney, b. 1824, Albany, NY; d. Albany, NY, aged about 20 months, of smallpox; bur. St. Peter's Church graveyard, Albany, NY.
viii. George Whitney, b. 1826, Albany, NY; d. Albany, NY, aged about 1 year, in consequence of falling down stairs.
ix. Catharine Eliza Whitney, b. 25 Mar 1832, Albany, NY; m.(1) Arthur Harley; m.(2) Robert Price.
