Charles Edward9 Whitney (Samuel8, Joseph7, Daniel6, Daniel5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Samuel8 and Mary Jane (Carpenter) Whitney, was born 29 Apr 1850, Surry, NH, and died after 1900.

He married, 22 Dec 1875, South Hadley, MA, Jennie May Bliss, of Otis, MA, dau. of Henry J. and Mary A. (Tillotson) Bliss.[1] She was born 22 Dec 1849, Lennox, MA, and died after 1900.

He resided Westport, NH.

iv. Annie May Whitney, b. 6 Feb 1881; d. 3 Aug 1884, Conway, MA, aged 2 years 6 months, drowned.[6]
