Charles Hastings8 Whitney (Joel7, Jonathan6, Caleb5, Jonathan4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Joel7 and Seraph W. (Sawyer) Whitney, was born -- Oct 1848, Templeton, MA,[1] and died after 1910.

He married, 12 Apr 1868, Fitchburg or Templeton, MA, Fanny Augusta Warner, daughter of John S. and Frances B. (-----) Warner.[2] She was born 27 Sep 1849, Fitchburg, MA, and died 9 Feb 1919, Leominster, MA. She is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster, MA.[3]

iii. Ida Augusta Whitney, b. 2 Apr 1872, Fitchburg, MA;[8] d. 8 Dec 1872, Fitchburg, MA, aged 8 months 6 days, of erysepilas.[9]
iv. James Herbert Whitney, b. 28 Dec 1873, West Fitchburg, MA;[10] d. after 1900.
v. Alice Adalaide Whitney, b. 14 Feb 1875, Fitchburg, MA;[11] m. 1899, ----- Homestead.
vi. George E. Whitney, b. 22 Apr 1876, Fitchburg, MA;[12] d. 23 Jul 1876, Fitbhburg, MA, aged 3 months, of consumption.[13]
