She married, 11 Oct 1876, George Haven Carey, son of George Bingham and Ann Amelia (Haven) Carey. He was born 3 Jan 1852, Hartford, CT, and died 9 Apr 1937, Manhattan, New York City, NY.

Grace's birth is found in the Lawrence, MA, birth records, where she is found as Cyrene Greenwood Whitney, the daughter of Aaron and Rebecca (Perkins) Whitney. She is found elsewhere as Grace Whitney or Grace W. Carey, but not as Cyrene.

Both George H. Carey and his son Ralph Whitney Carey submitted applications to the Sons of the American Revolution for membership. Ralph traces his ancestry back to Levi Whitney through his grandparents, Aaron and Rebecca (Perkins) Whitney. George traces his ancestry back through his parents to the Robinson family.

They resided at 39 W. 61st St., New York City, in 1895.

All three members of this family are buried in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford, CT.
