Eli6 Whitney (Zebulon5, Abel4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Zebulon5 and Joanna (Stone) Whitney, was born 16 Aug 1786, Gorham, ME,[1] and died 1865, Gorham, ME.

He married, 19 Apr 1811, Damaris Stone, daughter of Jonathan and Damaris (Elder) Stone. She was born 18 Oct 1787, Gorham, ME, and died 19 Jul 1872.

Children of Eli6 and Damaris (Stone) Whitney:

i. Zebulon7 Whitney, b. 24 Apr 1812, Gorham, ME; m. Susan Morton.
ii. William S. Whitney, b. 17 Oct 1815, Gorham, ME; m. Abigail Morton.
iii. Rufus Whitney, b. 17 Aug 1817, Gorham, ME; m. Esther Skillings.
iv. Mary Ann Whitney, b. 29 Sep 1822, Gorham, ME; m. 3 Oct 1850 in Gorham, Moses Butterfield of Portland, ME. He was b. 14 Sep 1815. Mary Ann d. 4 Mar 1866, Gorham. Moses m. secondly Abby H. -----. Abby d. 9 Sep 1871, and Moses d. 24 Dec 1889, Gorham. All are buried in the North Street Cemetery, Gorham, ME. Mary Ann had one son: Eli Este Butterfield, b. 8 Apr 1857, Gorham, ME.
v. Jonathan S. Whitney, b. 11 Mar 1825, Gorham, ME; m. 31 Mar 1858, Rachel A. Hopkinson.
vi. Caroline Whitney, b. 6 Jul 1827, Gorham, ME; d. 1867, Gorham, ME.
