Dr. Ephraim7 Whitney (Salmon6, Jonas5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Salmon6 and Hepsabeth (Raymond) Whitney, was born 12 Jan 1791, Harvard, MA,[1] and died 12 Apr 1846, Boston, MA, aged 55 years. He is buried in Tomb 22, the Central (Boston Common) Burying Ground, Boston, MA.[2]

He married, before 1827, Mary Ann Bird, daughter of James and Margaret (-----) Bird. She was born about 1798 [from age at death] or 1801 or 1805 or 1806 [from census records], Boston, MA, and died 19 Feb 1877, Boston, MA, aged 79 years, of old age.[3]

He resided Cambridge St., Boston, MA.

i. William G. J.8 Whitney, b. ca, 1821, Boston, MA; m. Ocean A. Spear.
ii. Mary Ann E. Whitney, b. ca. 1827; d. 24 Mar 1897, Boston, MA, aged 70 years, of erysipelas;[4] m. 30 Jun 1847, Boston, MA, Henry L. Bates.[5]
iii. Pliny Milton Whitney, b. ca. 1831, or Mar 1844, Boston, MA; d. 22 Mar 1909, Medfield, MA, aged 82 years, of arteriosclerosis;[6] unmarried. Had lived in Piedmont, San Francisco, and Stockton, CA.
iv. Charles S. Whitney, b. ca. 1834, MA; d. 26 Feb 1861, San Francisco, CA.[7]

Notes

His mother-in-law Margaret Bird is buried in the same tomb as Dr. Ephraim Whitney.
