Erastus Marvin7 Whitney (Jonas6, Timothy5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Jonas6 and Mary (Noble) Whitney, was born 28 Jul 1797, Otis, MA,[1] was baptized 17 Nov 1805, Otis, MA,[2] and died 17 May 1869, Otis, MA, aged 71 years 8 months 20 days, of heart disease.[3]

He married, say 1822, Otis, MA, Mrs. Mary E. (Jackson) Davidson, daughter of Ezra and Mary (Woodward) Jackson. She was born 5 Apr 1797, Blandford, MA, and died 17 or 18 Oct 1876, Otis, MA, aged 79 years 7 months 13 days, of muscular rheumatism.[4] She had married firstly, before 1815, Dyer Davison/Davidson.

He was a blacksmith. He resided Otis, MA.

iii. Harriett Amelia Whitney, b. 26 Jun 1831, Otis, MA;[8] d. 20 Mar 1907, Otis, MA, aged 76 years 8 months 27 days, of paralysis of the heart;[9] m. 8 May 1851, Otis, MA, Lorenzo D. Loveland, b. ca. 1823, Dalton, MA, son of Alfred and Mary (-----) Loveland;[10] b. 9 Sep 1818. He is a farmer in Otis, MA. Children:
a. Mary A. Loveland, b. 15 Mar 1852.
b. John Lewis Loveland, b. 18 Mar 1873.
iv. Charlotte Jackson Whitney, b. 22 Oct 1833, Otis, MA;[11] d. 30 May 1907, Sandisfield, MA, aged 73 years 7 months 3 days, of dilatation of heart;[12] m. 8 May 1851, Otis, MA, William H. Hawley, b. 24 Jun 1828, Sandisfield, MA, son of Harry and Elizabeth (-----) Hawley;[13] resided Sandisfield, MA. He is a farmer. Children:
a. Flora Elizabeth Hawley, b. 13 Mar 1858; d. 24 Mar 1893; m.(1) 25 Jun 1883, Martin Luther Butler; he d. 20 Sep 1885; she m.(2) 20 Apr 1891, Amos Spring.
