Francis6 Whitney (Jonathan5, James4, Joseph3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Jonathan5 and Abigail (Hemminway) Whitney, was born 17 Jun or 17 Sep 1776, Fitzwilliam, NH,[1] and died 1 Jun 1842, Lisbon, NY.

He married, date and place unknown, Sarah -----. She was born about 1786, VT, and died 22 Oct 1875.

They are buried in Bacon Cemetery, West Potsdam, NY.

Children of Francis6 and Sarah (-----) Whitney, from a census reconstruction, possibly incomplete:

i. (daughter)7 Whitney, b. 1815-1820.
ii. Franklin A. Whitney, b. ca. 1820, NY; d. 21 Oct 1871, NY, aged 51 years; bur. Bacon Cemetery, West Potsdam, NY.
iii. (daughter) Whitney, b. 1815-1820.
iv. (daughter) Whitney, b. 1825-1830.

Notes

Several otherwise unplaced Whitney persons in Potsdam and Lisbon, NY, could be his children. In particular, a widow Sally Whitney, 62, and son Franklin, 28, both born in VT, could be his widow and a son.
