Franklin Putnam7 Whitney (Joseph6, Jonathan5, James4, Joseph3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Joseph6 and Sophia (Oliver) Whitney, was born 14 Apr 1817, Broadalbin, NY, and died after 1870 (but said 1865).

He married, before 1845, Susan W. -----. She was born about 1817, NY.

Children of Franklin Putnam7 and Susan W. (-----) Whitney:

i. Emery E.8 Whitney, b. ca. 1845, NY; d. in the army in 1864; left a son resided in Kidder, MO. Served as Private in Company D of the 19th U.S. Infantry. He is buried in Chattanooga National Cemetery, Section G, Grave 8557.
ii. John C. Whitney, b. ca. 1849, WI.
