Frederick Whitney (Ransford, Samuel), son of Ransford and Eunice (Parmenter) Whitney, was born Nov 1828, Marlborough, MA, and died after 1910.

He married firstly, 4 Jun 1850, Millbury, MA, Elizabeth Thornton, daughter of John and Elizabeth (-----) Thornton.[1] She was born about 1826, either South Orange, NJ, or Dudley, MA, and died 25 Dec 1850, Dudley, MA.[2]

He married secondly, 21 Nov 1851, Sutton, MA, Melinda G. Bryant, daughter of Consider and Sarah (Norberry) Bryant.[3] She was born about 1836, and died 5 Jul 1852, Sutton,​ MA, aged 16 years, of "oil of fansy".[4]

He married thirdly, 8 or 24 Feb 1853, Sutton, MA, Sarah A. (Tifft) Ford, daughter of Thomas and Anna (-----) Tifft.[5] She was born about 1823 or 1826, Fairfield, VT, and died 18 Feb 1876, Grafton, MA, aged 52 years 11 months 9 days, of consumption.[6] She had married firstly, William A. W. Ford.

He married fourthly, 6 Jul 1876 [Pierce] or 10 Jul 1876, Grafton, MA, Cordelia E. (Slocomb) Rice, daughter of Pliny and Rachel (Fisher) Slocomb.[7] She was born 6 May 1829, Sutton, MA, and died 17 Jul 1881, Grafton, MA, aged 50 years 11 days, of pneumonia.[8] She had married firstly, 6 May 1851, Grafton, MA, Charles Rice.

He married fifthly, 24 or 30 Nov 1882, Grafton or Boston, MA, Mary Ella Temple, daughter of Seth and Abby Frances (Whitney) Temple.[9] She was born 15 Dec 1853, Northborough, MA, and died after 1910.

Frederick and Elizabeth (Thornton) Whitney had no known children.

Frederick and Melinda G. (Bryant) Whitney had no known children.

i. Frederick W. Whitney, b. ca. 29 Feb 1856, Grafton, MA; d. 28 Jan 1864, Grafton, MA, aged 7 years 10 months 30 days, of canker rash.[10]
ii. Hattie A. Whitney, b. 13 Jan 1864, Grafton, MA;[11] d. 30 Aug 1864, Grafton, MA, aged 7 months 17 days, of diarrhea and inflammation of the brain.[12]
iii. Alton Clifford Whitney, b. 3 Jun 1867, Farnumsville, Grafton, MA;[13] m.(1) Donna I. Richard; m.(2) Anna Eliza Fisher; m.(3) Alice C. Keach.

Frederick and Cordelia E. (Slocum)(Rice) Whitney had no known children.

Frederick and Mary Ella (Temple) Whitney had no children.
