George Reddington8 Whitney (Simon7, Simon6, Timothy5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Simon7 and Sarah (Holmes) Whitney, was born 27 May 1829, Duxbury, MA,[1] and died 7 May 1905, Chicopee, MA, aged 75 years 11 months 10 days, of broncho-pneumonia.[2]

He married, 27 Jun 1852, Provincetown, MA, Pauline Brown Hilliard, daughter of Thomas and Pauline (Brown) Hilliard.[3] She was born 28 Feb 1833, Provincetown, MA, and died 27 Apr 1897, Haverhill, MA, aged 64 years 1 month 29 days, of astheromatous degeneration of vessels, cerebral apoplexy, central cardiac and respiratory paralysis.[4]

He was a dentist and music dealer; resided North Bridgewater and Haverhill, MA, Washington street.

iii. Arthur Wilson Whitney, b. 16 Jan 1858, North Bridgewater, MA;[7] m. 16 Mar 1881, Lowell, MA, Rowena Locke, b. ca. 1868, MA, dau. of William H. and Rhoda (-----) Locke;[8] resided Lowell, MA. They had one child, who d. bef. 1900.
iv. Charles B. Whitney, b. 4 Oct 1860, North Bridgewater, MA;[9] m.(1) Clara B. Clark; m.(2) Kate Portis.
v. Fred Holmes Whitney, b. 12 Oct 1862, Brockton, MA, or 17 Oct 1862, North Bridgewater, MA [given name omitted];[10] m.(1) Eunice M. Bodge; m.(2) Clara Louise Gurney.
vi. Lena Leonard Whitney, b. 1 Nov 1865, North Bridgewater, MA [given name omitted];[11] m. 1 Jan 1890, Bay City, MI, William A. Welcome; resided Pittsfield, MA. He was b. 16 Jan 1863; is in the clothing business.
