Family:Whitney, George Washington (1816-1891)

George Washington7 Whitney (George6, Isaiah5, Abraham4, Isaiah3, Thomas2, John1), son of George6 and Polly (Fairbank) Whitney, was born 19 Nov 1816, Harvard, MA,[1] and probably was the George W. Whitney who died 7 Apr 1891, Pepperell, MA, aged 69 years 4 months, of pneumonia,[2] although his actual age would have been 74 years 4 months 18 days.

Oliver Nurse was appointed his guardian in 1835.

He "papermaker, aged 29 years, born Leominster", married firstly, 13 Apr 1848, Pepperell, MA, Lucy Elizabeth Shedd "aged 23 years, daughter of John Parker and Betsy"[3] (Bailey) Shedd. She was born 14 Dec 1823, Pepperell, MA, and died 30 Jan 1861, Pepperell, MA, aged 37 years 1 month 16 days, of consumption.[4]

He married secondly, 14 Dec 1861, Pepperell, MA, also 17 Dec 1861, Nashua, NH, Lydia Buswell,[5][6] daughter of Samuel and Lydia (Morrill) Buswell. She was born about 13 May 1818, Wilmot, NH, and died 26 Aug 1891, Pepperell, MA, aged 73 years 3 months 13 days, of paralysis.[7]
