James Jefferson7 Whitney (James6, Richard5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of James6 and Lucy (Reed) Whitney, was born "Jefferson" 26 Apr 1806, Harvard, MA,[1] and died 5 Mar 1867, Fitchburg, MA, aged 61 years 10 months 21 days,[sic] of typhoid double bronchial pneumonia, resided South Street, Fitchburg, MA, carpenter, born Harvard, son of James and Lucy Whitney.[2]

He married 1 Jan 1827, Winchendon, MA, Emma Bethiah Follett.[3] She was born about 1801, MA, and died after 1880.

v. Emily E. Whitney, b. ca. 1839, MA; m.(1) John H. Webber; m.(2) 8 Apr 1864, Nashua, NH,[6] also recorded 11 Oct 1864, Fitchburg, MA,[7] Melvin H. Collins; m.(3) 16 Feb 1869, Fitchburg, MA, George W. F. Ham, b. ca. 1834, Fitchburg, MA, son of Samuel and Mary J. (-----) Ham.[8]
