James Warham9 Whitney (George Jay8, Warham7, John6, Joshua5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of George Jay8 and Julia (Ballard) Whitney, was born 5 Apr 1845, Rochester, NY, and died 1907. He was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Rochester, NY.[1]

He married firstly, 8 Dec 1870, Batavia, NY, Pauline Clark. She was born say 1848, and died before 1880.

He married secondly, 3 Jul 1880, Toronto, ON, Belle Hastings (Nott) Waring, daughter of Horace and Harriet L. (Smith) Nott.[2] She had married firstly, Benjamin L. Wareing. She was born about 1848, OH, and died after 1900. Apparently they were divorced.

He married thirdly, 17 Mar 1892, Effie Lyle. She was born about 1866.

He runs the Whitney grain elevator on Brown street. He is a senior member also of the firm of Whitney & Gibson, grain merchants of Buffalo; resided Rochester, NY, Clinton place; s. p.
