Family:Whitney, John (1784-1871)
John6 Whitney (John5, Joshua4, Joshua3, Benjamin2, John1) son of John5 and Molley (Carey) Whitney, was born before 3 Nov 1784, and died 20 Feb 1871, Lafayette Township, Coles County, IL. He is buried in Bethel Cemetery, Coles County, IL.
He married, about 1808, Polly Gibbs, daughter of Truman and Anna (Barnes) Gibbs. She was born 12 Apr 1788, Litchfield Farms, CT, and died 1852, Waukesha County, WI.
In 1837 he was living in Erie Co., PA, aged 53, and his mother Molly was living with him.[1]
