He married, 21 Nov 1883, Allen, Hillsdale Co., MI, Fanny Ellis, daughter of Stephen White and Esther (DePue) Ellis. She was born Jun 1860, Canandaigua, Ontario Co., NY, and died 1943, Hillsdale Co., MI.[2]
Resided in Hillsdale, MI. He was a veterinarian surgeon with his office same address as his home, 3 N. West St., Hillsdale, MI. Burial took place at Allen Cemetery, Hillsdale Co., MI.

He was a missionary to Japan, born 24 Jul 1883, IA, and died 30 Apr 1967, Tokyo, Japan, aged 83 years, of pneumonia. They lived in New Hampshire when they were not in Japan. He m.(2) Japan, Kurado Hayakawa. His last residence in the United States had been 1603 Fandale Place, Ann Arbor, MI. iii. Jane Sue Whitney, b. 1 Mar 1891, Hillsdale Co., MI; d. 9 Dec 1972, Hillsdale, Hillsdale Co., MI;[4] m. Chauncey Cook.
