Jonathan Wallace8 Whitney (Samuel7, Asa6, Levi5, Daniel4, Jonathan3, Jonathan2, John1), son of Samuel7 and Polly (Wallace) Whitney, was born 13 May 1819, Townsend, MA, and died 16 Apr 1889, Providence, RI.

Marriage intentions were published 6 Sep 1844, Townsend, MA, for him "Wallace" and Mary Ann Brooks.[1] Marriage intentions were published 15 Sep 1844, Woburn, MA, for him and Mary A. Brooks "of Townsend".[2] He married, 3 Oct 1844, Townsend, MA, Mary A. Brooks, b. ca. 1822, MA, daughter of Samuel and Sally (-----) Brooks.[3] She was born 10 Jun 1821.

Jonathan Wallace Whitney learned his trade at Chelmsford, Massachusetts, in 1843 removed to So. Woburn, now Winchester. A member of the board of selectmen in 1860. Moved to Providence in 1861. He died 16 Apr 1889; resided Providence, Rhode Island.
