Joseph Hasting8 Whitney (Joseph7, Nathaniel6, Nathaniel5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Joseph7 and Polly (Stockwell) Whitney, was born 29 Mar 1803, Grafton, MA,[1] and died 1 Jul 1885, Worcester, MA, aged 82 years 3 months 2 days, of general paralysis.[2]

He married firstly, 12 Mar 1829, Grafton, MA, Damaris Holmes Rich,[3] daughter of Jacob Reed and Nancy (-----) Rich. She was born 10 Aug 1807, New Braintree, MA, and died 17 Mar 1833, Grafton, MA, aged 26 years.[4]

He married secondly, 7 Jan 1834, Grafton, MA, Sarah Ingraham,[5] probably daughter of Remember and Sally (Waite) or Lucy (Reynolds) Ingraham, of Dudley, MA. She was born about 25 Jun 1810, Dudley, MA, and died (said 1889, Ashburnham, MA) 8 Jul 1898, Shrewsbury, MA, aged 88 years 13 days, of heart failure.[6]

She resided in Worcester. He resided Grafton and Worcester, MA.
