Joshua B.9 Whitney (Joshua Berry8, Samuel7, John6, (poss.) John5, (poss.) Samuel4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Joshua Berry8 and Wealthy Jane F. (Estey) Whitney, was born 16 Jan 1848, Andover, MA,[1] and died 17 Jun 1925, Chelsea, MA, aged 71 years. He was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn, MA.[2]

He married firstly, Sarah E. Putnam, daughter of Joseph B. and Sarah H. (Bickhum) Putnam. Apparently they were divorced before 1894. She was born 2 Sep 1846, Wilmington, MA, and died 5 Jun 1920, Nevins Home, Methuen, MA, aged 73 years 9 months 3 days, of chronic valvular heart disease.[3] She was buried in Holton Cemetery, Danvers, MA.

He married secondly, 10 Sep 1894, Boston, MA, Lucy Ellen Paul, daughter of William and Lucy Jane (Putnam) Paul.[4] She was born 20 Apr 1849, Lynn, MA, and died May 1927, aged 78 years. She was buried in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn, MA.[5]
