Luther Farwell8 Whitney (Richard7, James6, Richard5, Richard4, Richard3, Richard2, John1), son of Richard7 and Sally (Turner) Whitney, was born 8 Nov 1819,[1] Harvard, MA,[2] and died 3 Mar 1876, Boston, MA, aged 56 years 11 months 24 days, of perforation of duodenum and peritonitis.[3]

Marriage intentions were published 15 Sep 1849, Charlestown, MA, for him and Lydia Lorinda Carleton, daughter of William and Lydia (Hunting) Carleton.[4] She was born 12 Mar 1822,[5] Boston, MA, and died 18 May 1894, Dedham, MA, aged 72 years 2 months 6 days, of pneumonia, bur. Watertown, MA.[6]
