Mary Ann7 Whitney (Joseph S.6, Jacob5, Benjamin4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Joseph S.6 and Jane (Bolan/Goodwin) Whitney, was born 19 Aug 1822, Phillips, ME,[1] and died 9 Jul 1875, Lisbon, ME, aged 51 years 10 months 21 days. She as buried in Lisbon Ridge Cemetery, Lisbon Falls, ME.[2]

She married, 25 Dec 1850, Boston, MA, Amasa Smith, son of George and Margaret Coombs (Fulton) Smith.[3] He was born 28 Feb 1829, Lisbon, ME, and died 3 Mar 1890, Lisbon, ME, aged 61 years 3 days. He was buried in Lisbon Ridge Cemetery, Lisbon Falls, ME.[4]

From her age at death she would have been born about 18 Aug 1823 and she was 27 at marriage, so possibly b. 1823 not 1822.

He married secondly, 1 Dec 1879, Georgetown, ME, Flora Almeda Marr, daughter of Albert D. and Temperance (Oliver) Marr. She was born 19 May 1857, Georgetown, ME, and died 16 Feb 1896. She was buried in the First Baptist Church Cemetery, Georgetown, ME.[5] She married secondly, 17 Sep 1892, Portsmouth, NH, Lewis W. Davis, son of William B. and Harriet (-----) Davis.[6]

During the Civil War Amasa was a Private, Co. K., 27th Maine Infantry, enlisting 30 Sep 1862 and discharged 1 Jul 1863 [1890 Veterans Schedule].

i. Joseph Forester Smith, b. 18 Feb 1851, Strong, ME, or Lisbon, ME; d. 2 Apr 1925, Auburn, ME; m. ca. 1880, Flora A. Hinckley; both bur. Davis Cem., Lisbon, ME.[7][8]
ii. Loilla Smith, b. 31 Mar 1853, Lisbon, ME; d. 8 Feb 1854, Lisbon, ME, aged 10 months 8 days; bur. with parents Lisbon Ridge Cemetery, Lisbon Falls, ME.[9]
iii. Charles W. Smith, b. 22 Nov 1855, Lisbon, ME; d. 26 Aug 1860, Lisbon, ME, aged 4 years 9 months 4 days; bur. with parents Lisbon Ridge Cemetery, Lisbon Falls, ME.[10]
iv. Amasa Hildreth Smith, b. 7 Jul 1858, Lisbon, ME; d. 29 Sep 1909, Webster (Sabattus), ME, aged 51 years 2 months 22 days; m. ca. 1884, Jennie N. Wilson, d. 9 Jul 1941, aged 78 years 4 months 6 days; both bur. Pleasant Hill Cem., Sabattus, ME.[11][12]
v. Ada W. Smith, b. 5 Jan 1862, Lisbon, ME; d. 9 Mar 1919, Webster (Sabattus), ME; m. ca. 1879, Winfield "Scott" Maxwell, b. 1857, d. 1927; both bur. Pleasant Hill Cem., Sabattus, ME.[13][14]
