Family:Whitney, Milo Leander (1833-1863)

Milo Leander Whitney (Milo Lakin, William), son of Milo Lakin and Mary W. (Trumbull) Whitney, was born 30 Apr 1833, Lowell, MA,[1] and died 3 May 1863, Fredericksburg, VA, killed in Second Battle of Fredericksburg.

He married, 21 May 1854, Pembroke, NH, Orrilla S. Cross, both of Pembroke,[2] daughter of William and Eliza G. (Tandy) Cross. She was born about 1832, Franklin, NH, and died between 1890 and 1900.

He enlisted as a Private in Co. A, 5th New Hampshire Infantry, 12 Aug 1861, and was killed at the Second Battle of Fredericksburg, 3 May 1863. Posthumously he was promoted to Second Lieutenant, 1 Jun 1865.
