Milton6 Whitney (Asa5, Joshua4, William3, Joshua2, John1), son of Asa5 and Hepsibath (Watrous) Whitney, was born 7 Apr 1786, Pittsfield, MA, or Salisbury, CT,{[ref|1}} and died 4 Sep 1839, Pittsfield, OH.

He married 8 Jan 1809, Pittsfield, MA, Lydia Cleveland, daughter of Zabdiel and Abigail (Luce) Cleveland. She was born 18 Sep 1786, Tisbury, MA, and died 23 Aug 1869, Pittsfield, OH.

Milton Whitney was born in Pittsfield, MA, where his children were all born. In 1830 he moved to Ohio, became a large land owner and prominent business man. He resided Pittsfield, MA, and Pittsfield, OH.
