Miriam5 Whitney (Josiah4, Josiah3, [prob.] Benjamin2, John1), daughter of Josiah4 and Mehitable (Fuller) Whitney, was born 31 May 1744, Willington, CT,[1] and died said 1844.

She married, 17 May 1764, Willington, CT, Josiah Root,[2] son of Samuel and Mercy (Parker) Root. He was born 17 Sep 1733, Coventry, CT, and died 28 Mar 1786, Willington, CT.

She married secondly, about 1822, Thomas Sabin, son of Nehemiah and Ruth (Cooper) Sabin. He was born 10 Apr 1744, Pomfret, CT, and died in 1829. He had married firstly, Martha Haven (1739-1782), and secondly, Abigail ----- (c1744-1821).

iii. Olive Root, b. 27 Jan 1770, Willington, CT; d. 17 Jan 1859, Elba, NY; m. ca. 1787, John Wyllys.
iv. Anson Root, b. 15 Jul 1772, Willington, CT; d. at sea.
v. Meriam Root, b. 1 May 1775, Willington, CT; d. 1850, Cortland, NY; m. 10 Oct 1803, Otsego, NY, James Ripley.
vi. Samuel Root, b. 4 Jun 1777, Willington, CT; d. 25 Mar 1870, Port Byron, NY; m.(1) 25 Mar 1799, Fanny Preston; m.(2)1842-1850, Elizabeth Louisa Merritt.
vii. Keziah Root, b. 16 Mar 1779, Willington, CT; d. 13 Feb 1787, Willington, CT.
vii. Elias Root, b. 9 Jun 1781, Willington, CT; d. 20 Mar 1832, Pekin, NY; m. 20 Sep 1816, Port Byron, NY, Anna Belding.

Thomas and Miriam5 (Whitney)(Root) Sabin had no children.
