Nathan8 Whitney (Nathan7, Nathan6, David5, Nathan4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Nathan7 and Ann Mary (Hensel) Whitney, was born 8 May 1838, OH, and died 15 Mar 1897, Peoria, Franklin Co., KS.

He married 03 31 1866, Peoria, Franklin Co., KS, Martha Ellen Durham, daughter of Thomas Stembridge and Nancy (Pierce) Durham. She was born 19 May 1850, Industry, McDonald Co., IL, and died 27 Oct 1920, Salina, Franklin Co., KS.

Nathan Whitney was a Civil War veteran. He and his widow received pensions from the U.S. government. They resided in Peoria, KS, where they were farmers.
