Newhall7 Whitney (Benjamin6, Solomon5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of Benjamin6 and ----- (-----) Whitney, was born 1 May 1791, Petersham, MA, and died 13 Nov 1864, Wheelock, VT.

He married, 1820, Elizabeth Whitehead, daughter of J. F. Whitehead, an officer in the English army. She was born 10 Apr 1805, and died 10 Jan 1892, Saint Johnsbury, VT.

Soon after the war of 1812 he moved to Three Rivers, Canada and engaged in the lumber business. He resided Three Rivers, Canada, and Wheelock, VT.

i. John Thomas W.8 Whitney, b. 31 Aug 1822, QC; m. Eliza Morse.
ii. Benjamin F. Whitney, b. 21 Oct 1824, QC; m. Alma Flanders, dau. of Reuben and Mary (-----) Flanders, b. ca. 1826, VT. He was in the civil war, and mortally wounded at Cold Harbor; was in the 11th Vermont. She m.(2) 9 Mar 1869, Sheffield, VT, John Boman, son of Ira and Judith (-----) Boman.[1]
iii. Susan Annette Whitney, b. 20 Aug 1826, Wheelock, VT; d. 28 May 1906, New Haven, CT; m. 2 Jun 1856, Charles Morrill Hawkes; resided New Haven, CT. He was b. 20 Oct 1831, Windham, ME. Is a real estate dealer. Children:
