Oliver H. Whitney (William, Haynes), son of William and Eliza (Brown) Whitney, was born about 16 Dec 1846, Thomaston, ME, and died 17 Jul 1872, aged 25 years 8 months 1 day. He was buried in Village Cemetery, Thomaston, ME.[1]

He married, 29 Mar 1866, Hancock Co., MS, Malinda Marson,[2] daughter of Daniel and Elizabeth Forbes (Evans) Marson. She was born 15 Jul 1848, Picayune, MS, and died 8 Dec 1912. She was buried in Turtleskin Cemetery, Santa Rosa, MS.[3] She married secondly, 6 Jan 1881, Hancock Co., MS, Franklin Molecamp/Malcamp,[4] born Mar 1847, ME, and died 0 Apr 1902, Picayune, MS. He was buried in Turtleskin Cemetery, Santa Rosa, MS.[5]

In Oct 1864 he enlisted in the Navy at Portland, ME. Children:

i. Ophelia B. Whitney, b. 26 Jan 1876, Gainesville, MS; "Offie"; d. 12 Oct 1929, Hancock Co., MS; m. 21 Dec 1893, Hancock Co., MS, John A. Schulthis,[9] son of Jacob and Louisa (Engelhardt) Schultheis. Res. "Phelia" New Orleans, LA, 1900, and "Ophilia" Hancock Co., MS, 1920.
