Rev. Reuben7 Whitney (Nathaniel6, Abel5, Nathan4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Nathaniel6 and Zilpah (Martin) Whitney, was born 23 Jun 1794 or 2 Jul 1794, Standish, ME,[1] and died 23 Nov 1837, Sebago, ME. He is buried in the Haley Cemetery, Sebago, ME.

Marriage intentions were published 4 Jun 1818, Standish, ME, for him and June Whitmore[sic], "both of Standish".[2] He married firstly, 2 Jul 1818, Standish, ME, Jane Whitmore of Standish,[3] daughter of William and Amy (Knight) Whitmore. She was born in 1797, and died 20 Apr 1827. She is buried in the Rand Cemetery, Standish, ME.

Marriage intentions were published 28 May 1829, Standish, ME, for him "of Standish" and Phebe Dearborn "of Buxton".[4] He "of Standish" married secondly, 22 Jun 1829, Buxton, ME, Phebe Dearborn "of Buxton",[5] daughter of Jacob and Susannah (Runnels) Dearborn. She was born 16 Nov 1794, Buxton, ME,[6] and died 8 Jan 1865, Sebago, ME. She is buried in the Haley Cemetery, Sebago, ME. She "Miss" "of Sebago" married secondly, 14 Mar 1843, Cumberland Co., ME, Chase Wiggin "of Baldwin",[7] born about 1805, ME, and apparently died between 1850 and 1860.

He was a preacher, a farmer and a veteran of the War of 1812. He resided Sebago, ME.

"Whitney, Reuben, Musician, Capt. John York's Company, Lt. Col. J. Burbank's Regt. Served from September 7 to September 20, 1814, 1 day additional for travel. Raised at Standish, service at Portland."[8]

i. Zilpha A.8 Whitney, b. 11 Jan 1819; d. 2 May 1908; m. 29 Dec 1844, Benjamin F. Cutler, b. 19 Apr 1822, d. 24 April 1891; resided Washington, DC, 634 A St., N.E. Both Zilpha and Benjamin are buried in the Saccarappa Cemetery, Westbrook, ME. He is a surveyor and lumber manufacturer. Children:
a. Clara L. Cutler, b. 9 Aug 1846; m. 1 Oct 1866, Thomas E. Roach.
b. Mary A. Cutler, b. 26 Apr 1850.
c. Jennie W. Cutler, b. 22 Dec 1858.
ii. Sarah H. Whitney, b. 24 Feb 1823; d. 12 Sep 1832. She is buried in the Rand Cemetery, Standish, ME.

Children of Reuben7 and Phebe (Dearborn) Whitney:

iii. Jane Whitney, b. 28 Apr 1830; d. Sep 1832.
iv. Susannah D. Whitney, b. 13 Sep 1831 in Buxton, ME; d. 31 Dec 1915 in Sebago, ME. She is buried in the Haley Cemetery, Sebago, ME.
v. Brazill H. Whitney, b. 21 May 1837; m. Jane S. Lord.
