Richard4 Whitney (Henry3, John2, Henry1), son of Henry3 and Elizabeth (Olmstead) Whitney,[1] was born 29 Mar 1722, Ridgefield, CT;[2] died 18 Nov 1772 or 1773, Ridgebury, CT, aged about 50 years.[3]

He married, 18 Dec 1745, Ridgefield, CT, Esther Clark,[4] daughter of .[5] She was born unknown,[6] and died Apr 1810, Westmoreland, N. Y.[7] She married secondly, 1 Jan 1777, Ridgebury, CT, Daniel Whitlock of Wilton, by Rev. Samuel Camp.[8]

Phoenix says the following:[9]

... a farmer .... They settled at Ridgebury, Conn., where he died, 18 Nov 1772, "aged about 50 years," according to the church record, while the town record says, 18 Nov 1773.
