Samuel5 Whitney (Thomas4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of Thomas4 and Mary (Baker) Whitney,[1] was born 22 Jul 1714, Stow, MA,[2] and died before 31 Oct 1748, Stow, MA.[3]

Samuel married, before 10 Dec 1742, Grace -----.[4] She was born say 1717, and died 6 Jun 1763, Bolton, MA.[5] Marriage intentions were published 15 Nov 1755, Lancaster, MA, for her "of Harvard" and Josiah Houghton "of Lancaster".[6] Marriage intentions were published 22 Nov 1755, Harvard, MA, for her and Josiah Houghton "of Lancaster".[7] She married secondly, 6 Jan 1756, Lancaster, MA, Josiah Houghton.[8] No marriage record is found in Stow, but her husband was born there and child Samuel was born there.

On 31 Oct 1748, Stow, MA, his inventory was taken by Ebenezer Graves, Oliver Sheril[?], and Peter Graves. On 31 Oct 1748, Stow, MA, administration was granted to widow Grace Whitney of Stow, with Peter Graves and David Ran[?] of Stow as sureties. On 19 Dec 1763, Stow, MA, administration was granted to Josiah Houghton of Lancaster; mention is made of the widow Grace and "the children" on 29 Dec 1763.

i. Jemima6 Whitney, b. 10 Dec 1742.[9]
ii. Samuel Whitney, b. 10 Sep 1745.[10]
