Samuel Elliott7 Whitney (Leonard7, Solomon6, Solomon5, Nathaniel4, Nathaniel3, John2, John1), son of Leonard7 and Polly (Elliot) Whitney, was born Apr 1823, and died Dec 1897, Plattsburg, NY.

He married, 23 Feb 1849, NY, Sarah F. West of Boscawen, daughter of Moses B. and Marinda B. (Elliot) West. She was born 5 Jul 1828, Salisbury, NH, and died 27 Sep 1887.

He moved to Fisherville, now Penacook, then to Plattsburg, NY.

v. (child) Whitney, d. young. (poss.) Arthur Whitney, b. ca. May 1869, NY; d. Mar 1870, Plattsburgh, NY, aged 10 months of dropsy on brain.[2]
