Sidney8 Whitney (Cheeney7, Nathan6, Jonathan5, Jonathan4, Jonathan3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Cheeney7 and Olive (Colwell) Whitney, was born 20 Aug 1824, Seneca Castle, NY, and died after 1880.

He married, 16 May 1850, Amelia Van Gelder. She was born 4 Sep 1824, and died after 1880.

He resided Seneca Castle, NY.

i. Willis9 Whitney, b. 19 Nov 1854; d. after 1880; unmarried.
ii. Burritt Gray Whitney, b. 27 Feb 1859; d. after 1880; unmarried. Both sons live at home and work on the farm. Burritt is a good blacksmith. Willis has invented a corn husker but has never got it patented; both are ingenious boys.
