William L.8 Whitney (Oramel Leland7, Moses6, Jabez5 Whitney, Joshua4 Whitney, Joshua3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Oramel Leland7 and Judith (Holbrook) Whitney, was born 13 Dec 1848, Westfield, MA,[1], and died 12 Jun 1896, Pittsfield, MA, aged 47 years 6 months, of pneumonia.[2]

He married, 15 Oct 1874, Norwich, MA, or Windsor, MA,[3] Hannah Maria Francis, daughter of John and Phinelia/Phenele/Fanny (Peirce) Whitney. She was born 23 Apr 1849, Hinsdale, MA,[4] and died after 1920, and probably before 1930.

iv. Maud Lillian Whitney, b. 2 Jun 1883, Cummington, MA;[9] d. 29 Aug 1884, Cummington, MA, aged 1 year 2 months 27 days, of enteritis.[10]
