William S.7 Whitney (Eli6, Zebulon5, Abel4, Nathaniel3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Eli6 and Damaris (Stone) Whitney, was born 17 Oct 1815, Gorham, ME, and died 27 Jun 1900, Gorham, ME.

He married, 21 Jun 1840, Gorham, ME, Abigail Morton,[1] daughter of Thomas and Rachel (Elwell) Morton. She was born 1823, Gorham, ME, and died 8 May 1895, Gorham, ME. Abigail was the sister of Susan Morton, who m. William's brother Zebulon.

William can be found in the censuses of 1850 through 1900 living in Gorham, ME, where he was a farmer. Both he and Abigail are buried in the North Street Cemetery in Gorham, ME.
